Medical, Urban, and Veterinary Entomology

The MUVE Section is for people with an interest in how insects affect humans, domestic and wild animals, and our urban environment. Topics include medical entomology, urban entomology, veterinary entomology, forensic entomology, epidemiology, integrated disease management, human and veterinary parasitology, public health pest management, mosquito control, management of structural pests (e.g., termites, ants), and others.

Presidential Committees and Task Forces

Presidential committees and task forces may be appointed as needed by the ESA President to serve during his or her term. For example, such committees may study a particular topic or develop a recommended course of action. Some presidential committees are carried forward by successive presidents, while others are active for one to a few years.

Standing Committees

ESA has the following standing committees. The current charges for the committees are stated below. Each year, ESA's Headquarters Staff works with the ESA President to modify these charges as needed to adapt to the most current needs of the membership.

Special Committees

Special Committees are established by a majority vote of the ESA Governing Board, to conduct a given charge for a specified period of time. ESA currently has the following special committees. Each year, ESA's Headquarters Staff works with the ESA President to modify these charges as needed to adapt to the most current needs of the membership.

Committees

ESA Committees provide recommendations to the Governing Board, establish objectives and operational procedures, and assist in implementing various programs and activities. The Finance, Audit, and Ethics and Rules Committees are considered Standing Committees in the ESA Bylaws, while all other committees are outlined in the Society Policy Manual.
