Awards & Honors
Each year the Entomological Society of America and the Entomological Society of America Certification Corporation provide annual honors and awards to recognize scientists, educators, and students, who have distinguished themselves through their contributions to entomology.

Honorary membership may be conferred on regular members and emeritus members who are in good standing with the Society and have had significant involvement in the affairs of the Society that rise to an extraordinary level.

The presenter of the Founders' Memorial Award must be a current ESA member and have a record of accomplishment in entomology. The scientist who is honored in memoriam must have made major contributions that have had a significant impact on entomology.

The nominee must be a current ESA member, and must be able to demonstrate through their projects or accomplishments an ability to identify problems and develop creative, alternative solutions that significantly impact entomology.

Fellows need not be members of ESA. Nominees must have made outstanding contributions in one of the listed focus areas of entomology. Nomination packages should focus on one nomination focus area and the nomination package should highlight contributions in the respective focus area.

The nominee (or at least one team member) must be a current ESA member, able to demonstrate through their statement how their efforts towards diversity and inclusion have engaged participation of all individuals who are interested in entomology regardless of age, gender, gender identity, race, cultural background, religion, physical ability, sexual orientation, professional status, geographic location, and all other characteristics that make our members unique.
