About: Hosted by the Ecdysis Foundation, this interdisciplinary course will prioritize the socio-economics of regenerative farming, instruct students in experimental endpoints of importance to farmers, and how to conduct science from a “boots on the ground” perspective. The course will prioritize hands on experiences working with actual farming operations, and will provide skill sets that graduate students can integrate into their research programs. Some skills that students will learn at the course include 1) videography for communicating science, 2) economic analyses of complex agro-ecological systems, 3) regenerative farming systems design, and 4) identifying metrics for evaluating soil health and progress in regenerative systems that are useful to farmers and scientists alike. Tentative cost per student is $500 (includes meals, lodging, and course materials). Contact Jonathan Lundgren to register: jonathan.lundgren@ecdysis.bio
