Pacific Branch Physiology, Biochemistry, and Toxicology Award

To be awarded to an individual who has an outstanding record of accomplishment in at least one of the entomological sub-disciplines of physiology, biochemistry, and toxicology. This award will recognize those who study biochemistry, microbiology, toxicology, endocrinology, cytology, molecular biology, allelochemicals, pheromones, hormones, metabolism, or other related areas. 

Pacific Branch Systematics, Evolution, and Biodiversity Award

This award recognizes an individual who has achieved excellence in at least one of the entomological sub-disciplines of systematics, evolution, and biodiversity. Accomplishments in morphology, ecology, genetics, phylogeny, nomenclature, biogeography, and other related areas are eligible.

Pacific Branch Award for Excellence in Integrated Pest Management

This award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions which have a direct relation to integrated pest management (IPM). The nomination of the winner of this award will be modified and forwarded as the pass-through nomination from PBESA to the ESA national competition for the Award for Excellence in Integrated Pest Management.

Pacific Branch Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension

The nomination of the winner of this award will be modified and forwarded as the pass-through nomination from PBESA for the National ESA competition for the Distinguished Achievement Award in Extension. This award recognizes an individual who has made outstanding contributions to extension entomology. 

Pacific Branch Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching

The nomination of the winner of this award will be modified and forwarded as the pass-through nomination from PBESA for the National ESA competition for the Distinguished Achievement Award in Teaching. The awardee must have excelled through innovations in developing new courses, programs, and teaching methods.

C. W. Woodworth Award

This award recognizes an individual Pacific Branch ESA member for outstanding accomplishments in entomology over at least the past 10 years. Active participation in the Pacific Branch is considered. Individual Pacific Branch members, industry representatives, departments, and other extension and research units are encouraged to submit nominations.

Southeastern Branch Excellence in Early Career Award

This award honors a student transition or early professional working within the field of entomology who has demonstrated excellence in all the major aspects of intellectual life, including research, extension, teaching, and outreach. The candidate will have made outstanding contributions to entomology, shown commitment to extension, excelled in entomological education, and exhibited creativity and leadership in outreach. The recipient will receive complimentary registration to the SEB-ESA Annual Meeting, a $500 check, and an award plaque.  

2016 Honorary Member Awardees

EDelfosseDr. Ernest S. ("Del") Delfosse is a 42-year ESA member. He is an international authority on biological control and IPM. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Florida, an M.Sc. from South Dakota State University, and a B.Sc. from the University of Louisville.
