ICE 2016’s Theme “Entomology without Borders” emphasized the global impact of entomology along with a multidisciplinary approach to explore and expand our scientific frontiers.
ICE 2016 honored leaders in the discipline through its Certificates of Distinction and other awards. In addition, ICE 2016 offered travel awards for students and early career professionals to participate in this historic event.
ESA’s Early Career Professional Committee (ECP), formerly know as Student and Early Professionals Committee (STEP), sponsored two competitions for travel grant awards for airfare, meeting registration, and lodging/living costs associated with travel to the 2016 International Congress of Entomology (ICE 2016). The first competition for a total of $50,000 was open to ESA members who were undergraduate or graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, or professionals having less than three years’ experience and who are located outside of the continental U.S.
