The Entomological Foundation hosted more than 2,500 students during the Insect Expo held on September 28 during ICE 2016. May R. Berenbaum (USA) was born in 1953. Swanlund Professor of Entomology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She graduated with a B.S. and honors in biology from Yale University and received a Ph.D. from Cornell University in ecology and evolutionary biology. Since 1980, she has been on the faculty of the Department of Entomology at UIUC, serving as head of the department since 1992.
