You are warmly invited to attend the 93rd annual meeting of the Entomological Society of America, Eastern Branch!
 

Mark your calendars for March 18th-20th, 2023, and register today to join us at the charming Graduate Hotel in Providence, Rhode Island.
The meeting will be an action-packed three days featuring the following events

We’ll open with a Welcome Reception for all members Saturday night, with a live entomological music performance by folk duo “The Vox Hunters”! 

We look forward to the return of our famous public outreach event, “It’s a Bug’s World”, organized by Faith Kuehn and Lisa Tewksbury, including face painting, insect cuisine, live bug zoo, scavenger hunt, roach races, and more! 

Our Awards Luncheon on Monday will feature a keynote presentation by the Bug Chicks (Kristie Reddick and Jessica Honaker), recipients of ESA’s inaugural Science Communication Award.

Graduate and undergraduate students will have opportunities to compete for glory and cash prizes in the Poster and 10-Minute Paper competitions, as well as the always-exciting Entomology Games!

We’ll have 8 symposia on a range of fascinating topics: 

  • Current Issues in Agricultural Pest Management
  • Entomology for Everyone: Representation Helps Cast a Wider Net
  • Insect Detection, Evaluation, and Prediction, (IDEP): New technologies in Insect Detection and Monitoring
  • The rush to stop the invasion: The technological advances in detection, surveillance, and monitoring for invasive species and vectors across different fields of entomology
  • Early Career Professionals Adapting and Achieving across Disciplines
  • Understanding the Drivers of (Insect) Diversity through the Integration of Phylogenies and Natural History Data
  • Innovations in Tick-bite Prevention Education
  • New Developments in Insect and Weed Biological Control in the Northeast
