Southeastern Branch Student Registration Scholarship

This scholarship is intended for any undergraduate or graduate student performing research or extension/outreach work in the field of entomology to present their work at the ESA Southeastern Branch Meeting. 

Five full registration scholarships will be provided for students to attend the 2024 Southeastern Branch Meeting. Funding priority will be given to students who have not previously attended a Branch meeting and are members of underrepresented demographics within ESA

Applicants will be notified whether their application has been approved by February 1, in time for non-selected students to register by the advance registration rate deadline.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should fit the following criteria:

  • Actively enrolled student at the time of application
  • Currently performing research or extension/outreach work in the field of entomology
  • Submit to the Student 10-Minute Paper Competition
    • Submission for the student competition is separate from the application process.

Priority will be given to students who:

  • Have not previously attended an ESA Southeastern Branch Meeting
  • Are members of underrepresented demographics within ESA
    • Underrepresented groups include women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+, black, Hispanic, and Native/Indigenous people

Application Requirements

  • Name and contact information
  • Academic level: BS, MS, or PhD
  • Planned graduation date
  • Have you previously attended an ESA Southeastern Branch Meeting?
  • Student Competition 10-Minute Paper Submission Required
    • Submission for the student competition is separate from the application process
  • Faculty advisor name, institution, and contact information
  • Statement of how the scholarship will help the student achieve career goals and how the student meets the underrepresented demographic criteria. Underrepresented groups include women, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ+, black, Hispanic, and Native/Indigenous people.

Deadline

Applications must be submitted by December 15th annually at 11:59 PM ET. All applications must be submitted through the Southeastern Branch Student Registration Scholarship site.
